NRA Basic CCW Course

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense.
The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This Instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA Certified Instructor from beginning to end and will be conducted in a classroom and at a Tactical Training facility.

NRA CCW takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction.
Course topics include: Firearm Safety (Mandatory), Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills, Drawing from Concealment, Loading and Stoppage Remediation, Mindset, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment, Firearm Cleaning, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities.
Course length is determined by the NRA Certified Instructor. Students may complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with the NRA Certified Instructor.
Students will receive NRA reference books, take a NRA CCW Student Examination, and receive a Course Completion Certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
For students to be successful in this course, they MUST bring with them the following equipment:

Quality Pistol appropriate for concealed carry – Recommend minimum of 9mm semi-automatic pistol or .38 Special revolver;

Quality Strong Side Hip Holster – Recommend form fitted leather or Kydex and must cover the trigger/trigger guard;

Quality Belt - Strongly recommend belt designed to support a holster and a firearm;

Quality Ammunition - Suitable for practice (200 rounds minimum);

Spare magazines or speed loaders with appropriate pouches – At least two additional (3 total);

Clothing appropriate for concealed carry (Overgarment, jacket, vest, oversized shirt, etc.);

Eye protection - Safety eyewear and/or prescription eyewear is acceptable; and,

Hearing protection - Electronic recommended.

An inspection of the REQUIRED EQUIPMENT will be conducted for each student upon arrival at this course. Failure to have the REQUIRED EQUIPMENT may result in dismissal from the course with NO REFUND.

SPECIAL NOTE
-
A student must not have been convicted of any felony or family violence offense.

A student must not have any felony or family violence charges pending.
-
Students must be legally eligible to possess and/or transport a firearm.
